The Aelfinn and Eelfinn are not evil. They are merely "so different from mankind that they might as well be."

The Aelfinn are tall, thin, scaly people with black hair and black slitted eyes. They look and seem very like snakes. Under the terms of an ancient treaty, they will answer three questions truthfully, although questions about the Shadow and frivolous questions are punished. The Eelfinn are tall, pale, and red-haired. They look and seem very like foxes. Under the terms of the same treaty, they will grant three wishes, but there is a price to pay for this.

Neither are to be trusted.
